How Dorset Law Support works

Gillian is contactable by email and land line and mobile phone, including at weekends and in the evenings.

Your client remains your client for all purposes but may have Gillian’s mobile number and email for use as required. Alternatively, she will respond to messages or emails forwarded from your office. Within Poole and Bournemouth her travel time is free to you and she does not charge expenses.

Gillian’s time is charged to you at £50 per hour on the usual 6 minute units, whether spent at your office, with your client, in phone or email contact or in preparation of letters and documents.

You will need to provide limited support services, including maintaining your file to the required Professional Standards and in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. Gillian will assist with compliance as requested.

Gillian does not aim to acquire new clients for her own practice through Gillian Linford Solicitor Consulting Services and will do everything possible to protect and enhance your client relationship.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Your firm’s PII is expected to provide professional indemnity cover for the work undertaken for you by Gillian Linford Solicitor Consulting Services.

Gillian has her own PII insurance in respect of her own practice and, if you would prefer her to act as your agent, with the benefit of that cover, she is happy to do so, at her usual hourly rate of £195 per hour.

Gillian is not registered for VAT. She does not hold client money within Gillian Linford Solicitor Consulting Services.

Support Staff

No access is expected to any of your support staff for typing or document production.

Gillian will email attendance notes, letters, documents etc to you for use/onward transmission. She will endeavour to comply with your house style and precedent preferences on request.

You or a member of your staff will need to maintain a client/matter file in accordance with your own compliance procedures, including anti-money laundering, review, credit control and archiving.

Depending on preference, your client will have direct access to Gillian by phone and email, but you/ your staff may need to pass messages.

You will invoice the client as usual.
